Hello, this is Jobploy, a foreign recruitment platform.
When an E74 (skilled worker) is seeking to change jobs, we have compiled a 'Workplace Change Guide' that companies seeking to hire must check.
Unlike the general E-9 (non-professional employment), the E-74 operates under a pre-approval system, and the conditions for changing jobs are strict, so company officials must be careful.
Prerequisite: Is it possible to change jobs?
E-7-4 visa holders are generally expected to continue working for the company for which they initially received the visa. Therefore, they must meet one of the following conditions:
- Expiration of contract with original workplace: When the employment contract period ends and the employee resigns normally.
- Reasons attributable to the company: When it is difficult to continue working due to reasons not attributable to the employee, such as suspension of business, closure of business, or non-payment of wages.
- Compliance with the minimum employment period: According to K-point guidelines, you must have worked for the company for a certain period of time (typically 1-2 years) after obtaining your visa. (If you change jobs mid-way, a "Transfer Consent Form" from your original employer is often required.)
Pre-Hiring Company Checklist (Qualifications)
Any company seeking to hire a new employee must meet the following criteria:
- Existing Employee Requirement: Your company must currently employ at least one E-9 (non-professional employment) or E-10 (seafarer) employee. (Companies without any E-9/E-10 employees will be restricted from hiring.)
- Employment allowance limit: Must not exceed a certain percentage of national employment (30% for general employment, 50% for areas with low population/density).
- Compliance with laws and regulations: Must not be subject to restrictions on issuing visa issuance certificates and must not have any national or local tax arrears.
Employment Contracts and Treatment Standards (Approval Required)
This is the most difficult part to look at during immigration inspection.
- Salary criteria:
- General industry: Expected annual salary of 26 million won or more
- Agriculture, livestock, fishing, and inland merchant ships: Annual salary of 25 million won or more
- Contract Period: You must have an employment contract of at least two years from the date of application. (However, this can be calculated by adding the period of employment at your previous employer.)
- Reference: Your employer must provide a reference letter specifying a period of at least two years.
Check the score sheet
The E-7-4 visa is a points-based visa. A minimum of 200 points, including bonus points, is required out of a total of 300 points. Similarly, when changing employers, the points earned at the time of the change are recalculated to determine whether they exceed 200 points. For the scoring criteria, please refer to the post below.

No need for a recommendation from the hiring company when changing workplaces: When changing workplaces, 50 points are automatically awarded without a separate recommendation from the hiring company.
