The second step is sowing seeds and planting seedlings. After deciding what crops to grow, this is the stage where you sow seeds or plant seedlings. You start to wonder if your emails are lost in the void or if you accidentally attached a meme instead of your resume.You’re Googling things like “How long does it take to hear back from a Korean company?” and convincing yourself that they’re probably just taking their time because they’re creating a custom job offer just for you.I was so confused that I created a Naver email just for job hunting thinking that it would be easier to receive emails back from recruiters because the emails aren’t coming to my Gmail account. Spoiler:  It was an illusion- Nothing was wrong with the Gmail.3.  Self-Doubt: Am I Even Qualified?After sending out 37 applications and hearing back from exactly none, the self-doubt creeps in. “Maybe my Korean isn’t good enough. Maybe I should’ve majored in something more practical. Why did I think an internship at that farm would look impressive?” You start revisiting every life choice you’ve ever made, wondering what went wrong. Soon you start questioning your worth.4.  Anxiety: Did I Miss Something?At 3 a.m., you’re rereading the job description for the 12th time. You’re convinced you overlooked a crucial instruction like “Attach your resume and a cover letter no longer than 300 words.”Your friends and family make the matter worse. They keep asking you “Have you gotten a job yet? “or “How is your job search going? “ Everytime the question comes, it reminds you that you are unemployed and people might be counting on you. The bills are coming in but you have no idea how to pay them. It's tough! Yes it. I felt so anxious that I started to withdraw, like an ostrich burying its head in the sand. Every time I opened my laptop and navigated to the job board, the weight of it all hit me like a ton of bricks. Just seeing the homepage filled me with dread, and I’d slam the laptop shut, retreat to my bed, and pull the blanket over my head, wishing I could simply vanish.Some say to relax, but how can I relax when I am spiraling into a vortex of imposter syndrome? And the bills are coming-that health insurance!5.  Burnout: I Can’t Do This AnymoreYou hit rock bottom. The thought of writing another cover letter makes you physically ill. Your once-hopeful search for “marketing jobs in Seoul” has devolved into “just any kind of job.” Now you are telling everyone that it's difficult to get a job in Korea spreading negative vibes about job hunting. The emotional fatigue settles in and you don't even want to try anymore.6.  Fear of Trying: What’s the Point?When your friend suggests another job opening, you wave them off. “What’s the point? They won’t reply anyway.”Even just seeing the word “resume” makes you want to crawl back under the covers. But deep down, you know that avoiding it altogether means zero chance of landing a job, so you keep pushing through; though halfheartedly. With that mindset, it becomes hard to convey genuine enthusiasm in your applications, and unsurprisingly, nothing seems to work.Then, out of the blue, you finally land an interview. 🤩 Joy and hope start to return to your face. For a moment, it feels like things are turning around. But that excitement quickly fades when you’re either ghosted afterward or greeted with the dreaded rejection email. It feels like a cruel cycle, draining you of the little motivation you had left.7.  Uncertainty: The “What Ifs” What if you’re being too picky? What if you’re not being picky enough? What if you’re destined to live in Korea but never work here? What if…what if…what if? Your mind is a tornado of possibilities, ranging from “Maybe I’ll move back home” to “Maybe I’ll become a monk.”Being dragged down this road doesn't only make you question your ability to get a job but your whole existence as a human being, your value, worth and your life.8.  Impatience: Come on!You finally get another response…but it’s an invitation to a group interview next month. If an employer fails to enter into or deliver a written employment contract, a fine of up to 5 million won will be imposed. However, temporary and part-time workers may also be subject to the same punishment. ✅ How should I use it?
