What is the Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP)?
This is an educational program implemented by the Ministry of Justice to help foreign nationals settle into Korean society. It supports immigrants to quickly learn Korean language and culture and to integrate into the local community. Various support policies are standardized into KIIP, and immigrants who complete it are granted various benefits such as acquisition of citizenship, exemption from written exams, and residence permits. Its composition includes understanding of Korean language/Korean culture/Korean society , etc.
✔ Starting from March 2018, the written naturalization test will be replaced by the comprehensive evaluation for naturalization under the Social Integration Program.
Benefits - Only those who pass the comprehensive evaluation for naturalization are exempted from the naturalization interview/ Korean language proficiency proof and on-site investigation are exempted when applying for permanent residency/ Korean language proficiency proof is exempted and additional points are given when applying for residence qualification/ Korean language proficiency proof, etc. are exempted when applying for a visa
▶Participation Target
All legally residing foreigners who have registered as foreigners in the country and naturalized citizens who have acquired citizenship within 3 years.
(For foreigners with an alien registration card, the 2nd stage of the social integration program or the 2nd level of the Korean language proficiency test is mandatory. In particular, it is required to complete the program as a basic requirement to change the skilled worker (E-7-4) visa.)

*For the second pre-evaluation, foreigners who are good at Korean do not need to start from the beginner level (level 0), so foreigners who have obtained a certain score will be assigned to the corresponding level right away. (41 points or higher - from level 3 / 21 points or higher - from level 2. However, if the oral score is below the basic 3 points, it will be assigned from level 0.)
*You can apply in conjunction with the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). Level 1 of the Test of Proficiency in Korean can start from level 2, Level 2 can start from level 3, Level 3 can start from level 4, and Levels 4-6 can start from level 5.
▶ Evaluation Types
The social integration program is a pre-evaluation (those who wish to participate in the social integration program and those who wish to take the comprehensive evaluation for permanent residence applicants)
It consists of a stage evaluation (for all students who have completed the Korean language course), a mid-term evaluation (KLCT), and a comprehensive evaluation (KIPRAT / KINAT).
