[Job Seeker] E-7-2 Visa for Foreign Medical Coordinators

As Korea's medical technology advances, the number of foreigners visiting Korea for cosmetic or medical purposes is gradually increasing!

There is an E-7-2 visa for medical coordinators that allows foreign workers to work at hospitals to focus on attracting more foreign patients, as communication is smoother when foreigners provide direct service.

◼ Medical Coordinator (E-7-2) Qualifications

1. Holders of health care professional licenses such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, or holders of a bachelor's degree or higher from a related field.

2. A person who holds a bachelor's degree or higher from a domestic university and has completed the international medical coordinator specialized course or medical interpretation specialized course under the Korea Health and Welfare Human Resources Development Institute Act.

3. A person who has obtained the 'International Medical Tourism Coordinator' qualification as specified in Appendix 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the National Technical Qualifications Act.

4. Those who have obtained a 'Medical Interpretation Proficiency Test Certificate' pursuant to Article 13 of the 'Medical Overseas Expansion Act'

2024 International Medical Coordinator Program for Foreigners

The International Medical Coordinator program lasts approximately three months and costs 300,000 won. Available languages ​​include English, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Mongolian, and Vietnamese.

2024 Foreign Medical Interpreter Program Recruitment

The medical interpretation specialist course lasts approximately six months, and tuition costs 500,000 won. Available languages ​​include English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Mongolian, and Vietnamese.

◼ Employment Hospital Standards

Medical institutions and foreign patient attraction businesses registered as institutions for attracting foreign patients are required to subscribe to liability insurance for medical accidents, etc.

(General hospitals: 200 million won or more/private hospitals/clinics: 100 million won or more)


◼ Number of people allowed

Childcare facilities - up to 2 people

Childcare worker - 1 person

However, if the number of foreign patients recruited in the past year is more than 1,000, an additional employment of one person is permitted for every 1,000 people exceeding the number.


◼ Application Procedure

Prepare documents: Prepare necessary documents such as application form, passport, photo, employment contract, degree certificate, career certificate, copy of business registration certificate, and medical institution certificate.

Application: Apply by submitting documents to the Korean Immigration Office or embassy.

Review: Review will be conducted based on the submitted documents, and additional documents may be requested if necessary.


◼ Period of stay

It can be extended for up to two years.
