How to obtain a health insurance eligibility certificate (for foreign workers)

Have you heard of the 'Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate' , which proves that you have properly paid your health insurance premiums while living in Korea?

This document is frequently used in various places such as tax refunds, loans, visa extensions, and documents submitted to public institutions .

This document may be somewhat unfamiliar to foreign workers, but it can be easily issued by following the steps below. 😊



📝 Instructions on how to issue


1. Access and log in to the National Health Insurance Service website.
👉 https://www.nhis.or.kr   After logging in, click ① Login




2. Select simple authentication

※ If you are having trouble with the authentication method, please refer to the simple authentication registration guide .



3. Select the 'Qualification Acquisition/Loss Confirmation' menu.
→ After logging in, go to ‘Frequently Used Services’ on the main screen
① Select ‘Certificate of Qualification’
(If you don't see it, search in the search bar at the top)




4. PDF issuance
Click the ① 'Print Issue' button below
→ Can be saved as a PDF file
→ When viewing PDF, you must enter your 6-digit date of birth (YYMMDD)
(Example: Born on January 1, 1990 → Enter 900101 )
