A Complete Guide to the 25-Year-Old Foreign Talent Points-Based Visa F-2-7 (December 18, 2025)

The F-2-7 visa is a points-based long-term stay visa granted to foreigners who meet certain requirements in Korea.
With fewer employment restrictions and high stability of stay, it is one of the most preferred visas for foreigners aiming for long-term stay after E-7 and D-10.

You can receive it if you obtain a certain score or higher through a comprehensive evaluation of your academic background, age, Korean language ability, income, etc.


F-2-7 Application Eligibility and Issuance Conditions

The F-2-7 application requirements are as follows. However, applications cannot be submitted if they are against a disqualification reason.

Holders of E-1 ~ E-7, D-5 ~ D-9 visas
  • Must have been legally residing in the country for at least 3 consecutive years as of the date of application
  • However, the period of stay requirement is exempted in the following cases:
    • Annual income of 40 million won or more
    • Applicants for the Overseas Science and Engineering Talent Retention Support Program recognized by the Minister of Justice
    • Those who have legally resided in Korea for more than 3 consecutive years with a D-2 or D-10 visa and have obtained a master's degree or higher in Korea
D-2, D-10 visa holders
  • Must have been legally residing in the country for at least 3 consecutive years with the current residence status as of the date of application
  • Must have obtained a master's degree or higher in Korea
  • Employment must have been confirmed in the E-1, E-2, E-3, E-4, E-5, E-6, E-7, D-5, D-6, D-7, D-8, or D-9 occupations.

If you are employed by a corporation listed on KOSPI or KOSDAQ and have signed an employment contract under the following conditions:

  • Employed or confirmed to be employed in occupations corresponding to managers, experts, and related workers according to the Korean Standard Occupational Classification
Meet the requirements for applying for a visa for outstanding talent Accompanying family members (spouse or minor children) of a person whose annual income is higher than the Bank of Korea's Gross National Income (GNI) per capita
Disqualification reasons
(If you have been sentenced to imprisonment or heavier punishment within 5 years from the date of application)
If a person has violated the Immigration Control Act three or more times within three years from the date of application and the total amount of the notice disposition is KRW 5 million or more
If you have been sentenced to a fine of 3 million won or more for violating the laws of the Republic of Korea within 3 years from the date of application
If the application is submitted with false documents within the past 3 years from the date of application
In case of reasons for entry ban
In cases where the head of the local immigration office or foreigner office determines that there is a risk of harm to the security and order of the Republic of Korea, public welfare, or other interests of the Korean people.
